The Challenge
Boiler Merchants sells heating and plumbing products online to installers and homeowners across the UK. Its range covers combi, system and regular boilers, air source heat pumps, circulating, shower and booster pumps, hot water cylinders, cold water storage and water softeners, from leading manufacturers including Baxi, Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Viessmann, Glow-worm and Potterton.
With dozens of similar-sounding model numbers, customers need to find the exact product quickly, compare specifications side by side and check out with confidence. The brief was a fast, scalable store with deep category navigation, powerful product search, comparison and wishlist tools, and customer accounts for repeat buyers.

Project Results
The Solution
We built the store on FleetCart, a Laravel e-commerce platform, and customised it for the heating trade. A mega-menu and an "All Categories" sidebar organise products by type and brand, from Baxi combi boilers to heat pump cylinders and condensate pumps. A prominent search bar with category filtering and "Most searched" shortcuts, such as Baxi 424 Combi 2.1 and Vaillant 832, takes buyers straight to popular models.
Product comparison, wishlists and a persistent basket help customers weigh up options like the Worcester Greenstar 4000 range before buying. Customer accounts include order history, reviews and saved details for repeat purchases. A promotional hero carousel highlights flagship products such as the Worcester Bosch Compress 5800i and Vaillant aroTHERM Plus heat pumps, and the mobile layout adds an app-style bottom navigation bar for quick access to categories, compare and basket.
