Global Tourism provide high-end chauffeur services across Edinburgh and were taking all bookings by phone and email. With luxury clients expecting instant confirmation and real-time communication, the manual process was creating friction at exactly the wrong moment in the customer journey. Double bookings had occurred twice in one quarter, causing significant relationship damage with long-standing corporate clients.
The system needed to handle live route calculation and dynamic pricing, automatically match available drivers and vehicles to each booking, and send confirmations without any manual step from the office team.
We integrated the Google Maps Platform directly into the booking flow so customers enter pick-up and drop-off addresses and see their route, estimated journey time and fare in real time before confirming. The pricing engine accounts for vehicle class, time of day, airport surcharges and minimum hire durations automatically — no operator involvement needed for standard bookings.
The dispatch backend shows all confirmed bookings on a live calendar, marks drivers as available or on a job, and sends automated confirmation and day-before reminder messages to both customer and driver. Double bookings became impossible by design on launch day. The client reported that average booking value increased after launch because the clean upsell interface at the vehicle selection step made upgrading to a larger or premium vehicle a natural choice rather than an afterthought.
